Chanel, Christian Dior, Armani Prive and You

Chanel, Christian Dior, Armani Prive and You

Last week was haute couture fashion week in Paris.  Pieces were shown which can be beautifully tailored to the specific requirements of the client with workmanship so exquisite that in itself, is an art form worthy of praise and wonderment.  Not everyone can afford such things yet we all are afforded the experience of having something which is made especially for us.  For each of us, by our very nature, is a unique article; perfectly tailored to the task at hand [our life] with exquisite workmanship and attention to detail of the most intricate kind.

We are all one offs – totally unique.

I am a one off just as you are a one off.  Although, as in the different levels of fashion, the fundamental construction techniques are the same for all of us, it is in the finer details where we turn from being ‘off the rack’ to becoming something which is finely tuned to the sensibilities of the client [us].  It is these refinements which move us from being a basic model to being top of the range.  As humans, we cannot be anything but top of the range and unique, for that is how we are made.  Human beings only come in one style – original.

When we are true to that which makes us unique we honour our existence, our reason for being here.  By listening to and manifesting our uniqueness, we add an energy to the world which brings the universe closer to its optimum vibration.  All too often people deny their own originality in favour of appearing like all others, to be one of the crowd.  Yet that is precisely why we often feel downhearted or lost, for we are not living as we were intended to live.  Marianne Williamson said it best in her lovely poem Our Deepest Fear -

Your playing small doesn’t serve the world

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you

You are not responsible for how others feel.  You are only responsible for how you feel and how your life is lived.  Do not deny your ‘haute couture’ aspects, they are what makes you You.  They are why you are here, why you are the way you are.  It would be like getting a Chanel suit made specifically for you and never wearing it, putting it in the back of the wardrobe and only peaking at it every now and then, scared in case you damage it.  What a shame it would be to not enjoy that which was made especially for you and no other.

Care for yourself, for you are a marvel.  Tailored so specifically for you that you are priceless; so precious that you are  gifted to yourself in the form of who you truly are.  A wondrous and luxurious construction which by your very presence is more valuable than the most exquisitely created garment.  You bring to this world something which no other can.  You add an energy to the collective vibration which no one else is able to do.  Be yourself, live according to your unique gifts; thoroughly enjoy the one off masterpiece that is You.

Enjoy

This is an amazing post, prefectly put! I do feel that the norm nowadays is to strive to be clone-like both in appearance and views/opinions. They should teach this in high school

Thanks Andie… I agree. If part of formal schooling was to teach children how wonderful they are and to celebrate not only their uniqueness, but every one elses, what a difference the next generation would make :)
