To change or not to change..that is not the question

Sometimes it’s easy to get dismayed or bogged down in the everydayness of our lives, especially when it all doesn’t seem as exciting as before or when things aren’t going as well as we had planned.  Sometimes we sit down and just think ‘what is the whole point of it all?’  ‘I don’t seem to be going anywhere’ or ‘If this is life, I don’t think much of it’.  What we must realise during these times is that they will pass and like all things in life as well as in nature (of which we are a part), it is transitory.

Life changing is the one and only constant in life.

Whilst we may like to think that something we enjoy will always be there just as we enjoy it, the case is that it will not.   If a thing is not growing, it is dying.  All things must evolve and therefore they must change.  Sometimes change seems for the better and sometimes we feel it has changed for the worse.  As with all happenings we must except that they are occurring exactly as they should in the big scheme of things.  Once we understand and accept this we can begin to enjoy the moments that we have, no matter our initial feeling about them.  For they are all we have, they are part of our own evolution along the path we must take.  They are our journey.

    I love this post B!

“Sometimes change seems for the better and sometimes we feel it has changed for the worse.”

That is the key: our perception of whether the change is good or bad, and not the change itself! Even if we can’t agree that the change is good (because it’s not what we want), it usually is for our higher good. With time and patience we can often look back and see it more clearly.

Accepting change is a very hard thing to deal with. But once we accept change then the rest is smooth sailing.

Thanks for dropping by Josten. As change is such a big and constant part of our lives it is a great thing to come to terms with and offers a fantastic basis from which to flow from.

Wonderful blog. I agree with you, it’s our attitude or acceptance of what is going on that makes all the difference in the world. Would that I knew that when I was young! At least I recognize that now. As it turns out, I thrive on change, it keeps me young. Thanks again for your fine blog.
